Cipher is an album by the Villa Theater Co. Cipher tells the story of Cliff, a young man with schizophrenia. It was inspired by stories from creators’ family members and experiences with mental illness. I was brought on late in production with a 2 week timeline to redesign the character and re-animate. 

 

As lead animator on the project, I storyboarded scenes, and redesigned and rigged the character. I animated over 4k footage, motion tracking and masking the character to fit the camera and environment. I divided shots between Samuel Walker and myself, with Sam handling the outdoor shots, and the cupboard and fridge scenes.
